Quick update: I recently had jaw surgery, which means a liquid diet during recovery for about 4 weeks. It also means I’ve been drinking a TON of smoothies. Between the prescription anti-inflammatories and the lack of solid food, it’s been essential for me to load up on probiotics and protein. Thankfully, it is so easy to be creative with smoothies, which makes it nearly effortless to hit all of the necessary daily nutrient requirements!
This creamy, chocolatey smoothie is loaded with plant-based protein and live probiotics from dairy-free yogurt, not to mention it tastes AMAZING! 🙂
Vegan Chocolate Probiotic Protein Smoothie
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup non-dairy yogurt I love Cocoyo
- 2 tablespoons pea protein I used Sunfood
- 1 Tablespoon nut butter
- 2 Tablespoons cacao powder
Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth!
If you’re feeling fancy, top with peanuts and cacao powder.
