This chilly weather calls for warm drinks and, because I’ve been on a chocolate kick recently, it only seems appropriate to post a cozy hot chocolate recipe. This recipe only contains three ingredients: almond milk, cacao powder and raw honey, which makes it TONS healthier than anything you’d find at the grocery store. As I’ve mentioned in my Avocado Chocolate Pudding post, raw cacao is absolutely amazing for you (it’s an antioxidant powerhouse). Honey also offers its own special health benefits. This comforting cocoa is rich, simple, and can easily be fancified with peppermint schnapps or cinnamon!
• 16 ounces almond milk or your favorite nut milk
• 3 tablespoons raw honey
• 3 tablespoons cacao powder
1. Heat the nut milk in a small pot over medium-high heat until hot, but not boiling.
2. Add honey and whisk until honey is dissolved.
3. Turn off heat. Add cacao powder and whisk until well combined.
