Turmeric lattes have become my new morning tradition. This frothy, vibrant latte is not only beautiful, it also provides an instant nutrition boost. Turmeric has tons of health benefits, including the ability to improve mood and reduce inflammation. This spice also has wonderful antioxidant properties.
Curcumin, the active beneficial compound in turmeric, is what provides turmeric’s healing and health-boosting benefits. Unfortunately, these compounds, although powerful, aren’t extremely bioavailable. The bioavailability of the curcuminoids can be increased with the addition of black pepper.
This latte is simple, delicious and takes less time to make than a cup of coffee!
• 1 cup almond milk or nut milk of choice
• 1/2 tsp turmeric
• 1/2 tsp honey or maple syrup
• 1 pinch cardamom
• A couple twists of black pepper
1. Heat nut milk in a small pot over medium-high heat until hot, but not boiling.
2. While milk is heating, add all other ingredients to a mug.
3. Pour heated milk into mug and stir well. Bonus points if you have a coffee frother!
